This 10-week program covers research, non-fiction and editing your own writing. Participants should be keen to develop their research skills and clarify their meaning through format, style, tone and language appropriate to the intended audience. You may work on a current project or plan and create new projects during the term.

This 10-week program covers fiction writing, personal narrative, poetry and picture books. Participants should be enthusiastic readers and have an interest in writing fiction. Each class will include some instruction on aspects of fiction and form, a writing exercise and workshopping of your writing in progress. New sign

Sustainable Living Festival

Movie in the Park

Gather in the park with friends and neighbours for our outdoor cinema to watch acclaimed Australian film The Song Keepers.

Come early for pre-movie activities: live entertainment, food for purchase, and a celebration of sustainability with various workshops and activities for all ages.

Seed Saving
with Kat Lavers

Learn how to save seeds is a wise move for any gardener. You will save a fortune on seed packets and seeding of course, but over time you will also develop stronger plants that are perfectly adapted to your garden’s microclimate. You will also have plenty to share with friends and family. We will cover all the basics of plant selection, pollination, harvesting, drying, cleaning and storing seeds for common vegetable varieties.

Growing your own veggies
with Kat Lavers

Learn how to grow your own food. Be guided through the basics including soil and plant nutrition, pest control, traditional and no-dig veggie patches, and easy grow herbs and veggies to ensure first time success. We will emphasise low or no-cost organic methods and discuss growing in pots for renters and people with courtyards or balconies.
