Welcome
Holden Street Neighbourhood House is a friendly, welcoming community space in the heart of North Fitzroy. At the House we embrace the spirit of the local area and are managed by a voluntary Committee of Governance elected by the community. We are a wholly not for profit organisation.
Our programs provide educational, recreational and skills based programs at low cost. We offer information and social support which endeavor to meet the needs of people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities and cultures. Located close to public transport we provide a hub where people can meet others, develop skills and confidence and feel a valued member of their community.
For more information or to become involved please contact us or drop in. We welcome volunteers and are available for hire servicing meetings or gatherings for groups and families.
Important update
Holden Street centre based activities have temporarily stopped but the organisation is still operating! Staff are working remotely in business hours and are available by phone and email.
We are implementing innovative ways to ensure that our community remains connected and supported during this period of reduced social contact.
Please take extra care of yourselves and those around you, show compassion and generosity towards everyone. As a community we can, and will get through this together. We look forward to seeing you again on line or hear from you via telephone.
We are offering Zumba Gold and Moving Meditation online classes - join us and invite your friends, family and neighbours!
Childsafe Statement of Commitment
Holden Street Neighbourhood House is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people. Holden Street has zero tolerance for child abuse and all allegations and safety concerns will be treated very seriously and consistently with our policies and procedures.
Acknowledgement of Traditional owners
Holden Street Neighbourhood House would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri people who are the Traditional Custodians of the Land. We would also like to pay respect to the Elders both past and present of the Wurundjeri Nation and extend that respect to other indigenous Australians who are present in our community.
