Childcare available now

There are currently vacancies for 5 hour sessions in our occasional care program. Occasional care is a great way to introduce the whole family to the childcare experience and to take a break for yourself.
We invite you to come and observe the program in action and see if you think it would suit your family.
Any families studying with any Learn Local organisation are eligible for Family Learning Support subsidised fees.

Our Education Program

From observations of your children, educators will identify developmental focus areas for individual children. A basic program will be put in place and will be changed according to children’s interests, development and play. The Educational Program is based on the Victorian Early Years Development Framework (VEYLDF). The framework provides an opportunity for educators across Australia to work towards:
  • A clear focus on children’s learning and wellbeing
  • A shared language for curriculum in the early childhood field
  • A base for planning, promoting and assessing learning
  • Improved quality in early childhood settings
  • Cultural security for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families
  • Including families and communities in children’s learning
Working in partnership with families, educators use VEYLDF Learning Outcomes to guide their planning for children’s learning. In order to engage children actively in learning, educators identify children’s strengths and interests, choose appropriate teaching strategies and design the learning environment. Educators carefully assess learning to inform further planning.
